I think when we are born we have our eyes wide open, trying to absorb all of it, every smell, sight,
sound and feeling. But as we age and gain a better understanding of our world, the more we see life with eyes wide shut. We diminish our perception of things, partly out of over-familiarity and partly as a defense mechanism. It is only the truly brave who, as we age, try to refine our view of things as they truly are. This is a 16 by 12 inch acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Where I am, this qualifies as more of that Original Jones Art from Austin, Texas. The project image is the
original sketch of this idea I did at work on the back of a Subway sack.
