The revelation of the quick sketch. It never fails to surprise me, that which can arise from the tip of a lowly pen that everyone uses daily to scribble orders and/or grocery lists. I think the drawings and then the paintings and sculpture that arise from the drawings, constitute my reason for living. It certainly can't be quantity and quality of my social life or the accolades I've received for all the work I've done, artistic and otherwise. It can't be the quality of life per se, though mine is much better than average on this planet. Here we have a sampling of drawings I've done using a little notepad from the company that handles retirement funds for my last (emphasis on LAST) place of employment. They measure just under 3 by 2.75 inches. More faces. Some seem similar, some can never be. Presented this day as Original Jones Art by the person who listens to birdsong, traffic and the occasional disembodied voice here in beauteous Austin, Texas.
