Checkerboard Sensibility

What is meant by 'checkerboard sensibility' you ask? I guess someone who is always playing the game even one as predictable as checkers. It's one step above tic-tac-toe in my opinion. But, of course, my opinions do not count for much. I've never cared for small games when the larger one is much more interesting: life.
