An outcast is a person who has no place in society or in a particular group, because the society or group refuses to accept them. I've read that artists live at the fringe of society, on the outskirts looking in. This could be an outdated idea but in some ways it makes sense. From that vantage point, one can observe the actions of other humans more objectively and thereby get a truer less biased idea of their mores and their beliefs. Is it easy to be an outcast? Yes and no. Not being accepted means being different and in such a way as to be noticed by others for that difference. It is easier to be a social chameleon, adapting behavior to any and all groups around you, than to be cast out. I think there are many of us playing the part, trying to adapt, to 'fit in.' But the interesting thing is, sometimes the person has actually thrown off the protective umbrella of society consciously, willingly, more than the other way around. It could just be in the cast out individual's nature to reject the status quo. In this regard, he stands out because of this trait alone. This is one of my quick 3 by 3 inches sticky drawings that I've added color pencil to. Is it Original Jones Art? Well, the person formally known as me says, "If it isn't, then I've been barking up a barren tree so long I'm beginning to like it."
