Split Down The Middle

This fellow has taken one side of his brain and reconciled it with the other. Or maybe he just removed a displeasing wedge. Could be a drastic way of splitting the difference but it's probably the only way for most of us. What do they call it? A happy medium? Only, in my book, medium has never made me very happy. Oh well.
