I 'study' a certain on-line auction site to see what shows up. On a very frequent basis, Norman Rockwell prints are offered, sometimes multiples on a given day. I nicknamed him 'Normal Rockwell' because his work is so grassroots Americana and, as such, very very normal. I thought this face reminded me of the shape of Norman's, hence the title. This is a 6.5 by 4.5 inches gel pen with acrylic paint drawing on both medium and heavy weight acid-free paper. Or is it a painting? Maybe a hybrid? It is not immediately noticeable, but the sky behind the figure was added after I got some oil-based substance on the original sky by mistake. That's when I got the idea of using the acrylics---as an experiment. And the cloud is a cut-out glued on. Yeah, Original Jones Art is still 'young enough' to fiddle around with something different here in northwest Austin, Texas.
